Brtonigla

Brtonigla is a municipality rich in natural resources and proud of its untouched nature, agricultural production and tourist resources. It is located between Buje and Novigrad, in an area where a mild, Mediterranean climate prevails, which allows for a pleasant stay all year round. It is characteristic of the municipality of Brtonigla that it is located on "four countries", ie that all types of soils located in Istria are present in the municipality. This is a unique case in Istria and probably beyond. Brtonigla is also known for paintings, oils of local landscapes and vignettes by painter Paolo Lakota, who has lived in the village and worked since 1972. The Municipality of Brtonigla is actively focusing on environmental programs in order to become and be recognized as an environmental municipality.
